Houston food truck eschews app, chooses AI Facebook tool

Grit Grocery, a farmer's market food truck based in Houston, has added a Facebook chat bot. Users can interact with the chat bot to check the truck's location and hours and order food, according to a report by Culture Map Houston.

"Most people would develop a mobile app, but this is our alternative to an app," Grit co-founder Dustin Windham said in the report. "There's a lot of research around app fatigue — people don't want to download yet another app — but over a billion people already have access to Facebook Messenger."

Grit also plans to add a second truck in the Houston area to reach more customers, the report said.
