Insufficient turnout ends Maryland food truck event

July 12, 2018

Food Truck Wednesdays, an event that began in early April at the Red Lion Hotel in Timonium, Maryland, has been discontinued due to insufficient business, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Chad Houck, owner of H2 Markets, operator of the event, said that 10 trucks could serve more than 1,000 people in an evening, but the event only drew about 200 people per week. He said the location does not have sufficient visibility and the area has many other dining options.

The company previously discontinued a Food Truck Tuesdays event in Glen Burnie, Houck said.

Four area food truck events remain: one on Tuesdays in Severn; one on Wednesdays in Arbutus; and two on Thursdays in Odenton and Middle River.
