Jacksonville food truck uses unused food to serve homeless

December 2, 2019

Geoffrey Simpson, a cook in Jacksonville, Florida, prepares and serves free meals for homeless people on his days off, according to a firstcoastnwes.com report.

Simpson fixed up an 8- by 14-foot food truck, called Hippie-Que, and serves food and drinks he obtains from grocers, restaurants and organizations that collect unused food.

On any given day, he may serve burgers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chicken fajitas with red cabbage slaw, Philly cheese steak, smoked brisket, fried dumplings or Sloppy Joes.
