Real New Jersey fare is being served in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, courtesy of a father and son in-law owned food truck called The Old Skool Jersey Rippers & Balls.
The truck is operated by Ron LePree and son-in-law Francisco Gajardo and was born from the COVID-19 pandemic when Gajardo was forced to close his restaurant, according to a Argus Leader report. The two are former New Jersey residents.
"It's tradition and nostalgia, it's something that reminds us of our neighborhood and of our friends," Gajardo told the news outlet regarding the truck's menu.
The duo said they wanted to bring the Jersey hot dog called 'rippers' to their community. Rippers are fried in peanut oil until they split apart. The truck also offers sell rice balls.
