Fort Pierce, Florida is taking measures to repeal a law requiring food trucks to maintain a 500-foot distance from restaurants and similar businesses in response to a judge's ruling holding the law unconstitutional, according to a WPTV report.
A pair of local food truck owners and the Institute for Justice sued the city over the law. In response, the judge ordered the city to allow food trucks to operate without the restrictions until the law is permanently changed.
The city has agreed to remove the restriction as part of a settlement agreement.
