Kansas City mulls more food truck inspections

March 18, 2019

Lawmakers in Kansas City, Missouri, are considering requiring fire department inspections for food trucks under a proposal scheduled for review in June. The requirement would hold food trucks to the same standards as brick-and-mortar restaurants, according to KHSB-TV. Food trucks are currently required to get inspections from the health department.

Deputy fire Chief Jimmy Walker said he expect new rules to be enforced until 2020, giving food trucks owners time to comply.
