Kentucky food truck contest proves popular

The first annual Kentucky Food Truck Championship featured 18 trucks and hundreds of foodies and clearly was a successful venture.

The Mount Vernon, Kentucky event drew a bigger crowd than expected, according to a WTVQ report.

The content was hosted by the Mount Vernon-Rockcastle County Tourist Commission and held at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame.

"There's a lot more people here than we expected," Mount Vernon-Rockcastle County Tourist Commission Director Emily Bullock told the news outlet.

Truck operators competed for the title of grand chap and a $5,000 prize as well as smaller monetary prizes.
