A nonprofit organization in Knoxville, Tennessee has launched a food truck that can serve 1,000 residents each day.

The Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries launched the mobile food effort in June, according to a Knox News report.

The nonprofit provides food and shelter as well as programs to provide residents with life skills. It is working with Urban Table, a business that helps fund the group's outreach programs.

The 27-foot truck will attend food truck parks offering Southern classic menu items as well as free meals for those in need.
