If there's one thing we know about criminals, it's that they're always improving their methods of ripping off the rest of us. That has certainly been the case for some unfortunate QSRs that have recently fallen victim to scammers working through the Telegram app to bilk fast food businesses out of cash.

A free webinar, "How to keep fraudsters from bilking your QSR via the Telegram app," on March 16, however, will teach operators how to avoid getting caught up in the scheme, which works by interceding online orders. SiftTrust and Safety Architect Brittany Allen, who has more than a decade of experience fighting e-commerce fraud and is an expert in fraud mitigation, policy leadership and dispute management, will lead the session.

Over the course of the hour, Allen will not only answer participants' questions around the issue, but also relay:

  • What the Telegram Messenger app is and why cyber-criminals use it.
  • How scammers are committing fraud via the app.
  • Which types of criminal abuse are taking place via Telegram.
  • What QSRs can do now to prevent financial losses.
