Loman AI raises $3.5M to transform restaurant operations via voice AI

Loman AI, a Voice AI platform for the restaurant industry, has raised $3.5 million led by Next Coast Ventures with participation from TenOneTen Ventures and Antler. The funding will help expand product development and grow the company's team as demand for its AI phone platform increases.

The company's technology aims to help an industry facing labor shortages by handling phone calls, a primary point of contact for many restaurants. Loman's AI phone agent answers calls, takes pickup and delivery orders, books reservations, and answers customer questions. It integrates directly with point-of-sale and reservation systems.

Restaurants using its platform have seen up to a 22% increase in revenue from recaptured calls and an increase in upsells, while cutting labor costs by as much as 17% by offloading phone traffic to the platform, said Christian Wiens, founder and CEO of Loman AI.

"Voice is still the front door for so many restaurants," Wiens said in a company press release. "When an operator turns on Loman, the phone becomes an asset again. Calls convert, staff focuses on the customers in the restaurant, and guests get instant answers."

Founded in the summer of 2024, Loman has grown to serve restaurants nationwide, processing millions of calls and tens of millions in order volume in the past year. The platform has seen significant adoption in the pizza category, but it is also used across various cuisines and restaurant types.

"Loman has a team that listens to customers, ships product features and enhancements fast, and executes with discipline," Michael Maloney, principal at Next Coast Ventures, said in the release. "In a massive industry with real pain points, Loman is proving it can deliver AI that works in the trenches, not just in demos."

The company is hiring for roles in engineering and go-to-market positions, with a focus on real-time voice processing and conversation AI.

Loman AI's phone agent answers calls, takes orders, handles frequently asked questions and reservations, and integrates with leading point-of-sale systems to help drive revenue and customer satisfaction.
