Long Island, New York residents are rallying to help a local food truck after a fire incident.

The food truck, Katie's of Smithtown, suffered a blaze on Nov. 23, according to a Greater Long Island report, which started after a deep fryer didn't shut down after reaching optimal temperature.

"We lost the truck, but everybody's okay and the building is okay, which is another blessing," Brian Karppinen, food truck owner, told the news outlet.

The truck served as the food channel for Karppinen's Katie's of Smithtown restaurant.

Local residents are donating to a GoFundMe event to help Karppinen get a new truck.

"I just want to thank everybody that's been helping out and hitting me up, I really appreciate it," Karppinen told the news outlet.
