The city of Louisville has changed course on a rule that blocked more than 100 food trucks from operating near brick-and-mortar restaurants, according to msn.com.
The Metro Council repealed a 7-year-old provision requiring mobile food vendors to stay 150 feet away from traditional restaurants by a unanimous vote on Thursday. The decision was part of a settlement with two food truck operators who claimed the proximity rule was unconstitutional.
Plaintiffs Robert Martin, of Red's Comfort Food, and Troy King, of the Pollo food truck, said the decision means Louisville is open to all entrepreneurs.
