Louisville still relishes its Southern cuisine, but the city also features its fair share of ethnic and health-oriented menus, judging from the top five food trucks rated by Hoodline, according to a Yahoo News report.
SnoWhat Snoballs, at 3801 Poplar Level Road in Poplar Level, took top honors, offering gourmet New Orleans style shaved ice using all natural ingredients. The food truck boasted five stars out of 61 Yelp reviews.
Clifton's Crave Cafe and Catering, at 2250 Frankfort Ave., grabbed runner-up honors with 4.5 stars out of 56 Yelp reviews, offering sandwiches, soups and more. Popular dishes include grilled chicken, "Big Bubba" and tomato dill soup.
Germany’s #1 Food, at 101 S. Fifth St., in the central business district came in third place, boasting five stars out of 21 Yelp reviews for its German and Turkish fare.
Las Gorditas, at 4756 Bardstown Road, specializing in Mexican cuisine took fourth place with 4.5 stars out of 43 Yelp reviews. Specialties include tacos, gorditas and quesadillas.
V-GRITS Food Truck, at 1025 Barret Ave. in Highlands, took fifth place with 4.5 stars out of 26 Yelp reviews, featuring Southern and vegan fare. Favorite dishes include hot brown melts, burgers, grits, macaroni and cheese, and more.
