Biddeford, Maine will soon be home to its first mobile food court now that city leaders have dealt with access and zoning issues.
The court, which will be called The Lot, will be home to a rotation of four to five food trucks and carts, according to a Portland Press Herald report.
The project is being spearheaded by Steve Liautaud who told the news outlet the downtown location is perfect for an upscale outdoor venue.
The location will provide food trucks and carts with power, water and an oil dump, according to the report.
"The opportunity to change over food cart operators daily will provide a mixture of food options for the community," Mathew Eddy, city planning and development director, wrote in a memo to the council, according to the news report. "The food court may provide a unique attraction to the downtown food industry and fuel the city's further redevelopment."
The Lot will be operating from May to October.
