Maryland food truck moves into mall location

The Malia's Kitchen food truck, which once served up its soul food on the road, is now a restaurant in the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland.

The eatery opened on Sept. 1 and the menu features crab mac and cheese, collard greens, fried fish and fried chicken, according to a Bethesda Magazine report.

The success of the food truck, launched five years ago, led to catering and special events which prompted owner Adonis Adams to build a bigger vehicle. The food truck will still operate at client events and for catering services.

Adams plans to move into a bigger spot in the mall and wants to connect with food delivery services and also have an all-day brunch every Sunday.
