The Mexico Beach, Florida City Council is aiming to improve its food truck and trailer guidelines. The current guidelines only have stipulations on food truck locations, according to a report by My Panhandle.
City Attorney Tim Sloan proposed two ordinances, one setting operational requirements and another changing the land development code for food trucks and commercial kitchens. The overall goal of these ordinances is to have designated areas for food trucks and distinguish between stationary trailers and food trucks.
Sloan said these two need to be distinguished as many stationary trailers, "did not go through the lease review," or "get a building permit."
