Milwaukee lawmakers reverse food truck ban

March 27, 2019

The Milwaukee Common Council voted to reverse a ban on food trucks along West National Avenue from South Layton Boulevard to South 39th Street, after Mayor Tom Barrett vetoed the ban and food truck operators agreed to park in a private lot in the area, according to Urban Milwaukee.

The ban's sponsor, Alderman Robert Donovan, thanked food truck owners for agreeing to park in the private lot.

Meanwhile, food truck bans that Donovan spearheaded still remain in effect in other parts of the city. Bans remain in portions of West Lincoln Avenue, West Greenfield Avenue, West Mitchell Street, South 35th Street, East Brady Street, North 76th Street, West Capitol Drive, West Fond du Lac Avenue and West Hampton Avenue.
