Mission, Oregon begins work on food truck park

Mission, Oregon will soon have a food truck park called the Txtayma Food Truck Park, which comes from a word in the Umatilla language that means to barter

Nixyaawi Community Financial Services will operate the food truck park. It is currently looking for food trucks to operate on the site. A Native-owned business, Bryson Picard Grading and Excavating, will build the park, according to a report by East Oregonian.

"It's exciting for all of the small businesses who will be able to be a part of each phase, especially our small businesses who are going to be able to provide food," Monica Paradise, board member, NCFS, told the news outlet. "I think it's really part of our cultural background, so that's one thing that they're able to bring forward is to provide food and use it in an economical way."

The park organizers expect to hold a grand opening by the end of July.
