The Hattiesburg City Council, in Mississippi, has approved a food truck regulation that is more welcoming to food truck operators.

The ordinance, according to a WDAM report, will boost opportunities and make food truck operation less burdensome when it comes to operating in the city.

"Well we hope to see more food trucks and it's also making the system a lot better for existing food trucks," City Planning Division Manager Ginger Lowrey told the news outlet. "We were under an old transient vendor ordinance that doesn't really meet the modern need of modern food trucks. So the new ordinance will cover year-round and will cover more locations."

The ordinance gives trucks more access for setting up shop in both business zones and residential areas.
