Mississippi county to regulate food trucks

December 18, 2019

Food trucks will be confined to serve in commercial and industrial properties in Marshall County, Mississippi, under an ordinance passed by the county zoning board, according to a report in The South Reporter. Ken Jones, zoning director, said people are letting food trucks park in yards, drawing complaints from neighbors.

The county has no rules governing food trucks at present, Jones said, although there are state requirements.

The board also passed a motion establishing a price of $100 per event for setting up concessions at the Marshall County Fairgrounds. The individual renting the facility would decide who will handle the concessions, providing the vendor pays $100 per event.
