The Daily Journal, a Tupelo, Mississippi newspaper, has encouraged city lawmakers in an editorial to come up with regulations that will support the growing food truck industry following a fact finding session among lawmakers on Tuesday. The newspaper believes limited regulations could help the local food truck industry.
The editorial urged restaurant owners not to guide policy decisions to stifle competition.
Both restaurants and food trucks have a place in the community, the editorial noted, adding that both groups should seek opportunities to work together to provide services residents will support.
