Mitchell, South Dakota bans food trucks during sporting events

Mitchell, South Dakota's Park and Recreation Board voted to ban food trucks and mobile vendors from operating during sporting events at city parks. The board stated that limited parking was the reason for this move, according to a report by Mitchell Now.

It denied a request from a vendor to operate during a Dakota Riptide swim meet and was concerned that allowing one food truck would enable many more to come in and take very limited parking.

The board said that vendors may operate off-site from events.
