The Little Free food truck is helping those in need in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with food and fresh produce via weekly delivery.

The food truck is the brainchild of the House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Aliquippa. The church food effort began with a free meal each Tuesday and then a pantry and garden effort, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.

The Little Free truck offers fresh food weekly in places where transportation and access to resources may be limited. About 3,500 meals are expected to be served in 11 neighborhoods this summer, according to the news report.

"For a long time, we tossed around the idea of a food truck," House of Prayer pastor Michael Sourwine told the news outlet. "Then in the fall of 2021, we finally decided to write for a huge starter grant."
