The National Mall in Washington D.C. recently towed more than 30 food trucks from the premises. The food trucks were not licensed properly to operate at the location, according to a report by WUSA9.

There are 100-plus vendors licensed to operate outside the National Mall. Of those towed away, Tiffany Crowe, the director of D.C. Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection, said there were issues surrounding safety and health standards.

Unlicensed trucks may not follow health codes which can cause issues for customers. Crowe said the action was part of an effort to support legitimate businesses.
