National park recommendations include adding food trucks

October 21, 2019

The federal government may be mulling ways to bring food trucks to national parks under a new set of recommendations under review by the Interior Department.

The department is looking to modernize campgrounds at national parks, and is considering allowing the private sector to run the parks to free up park staff for other tasks, according to the Associated Press.

The recommendations were posted online last week by an advisory committee.

Derrick Crandall, vice chairman of the Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee, said campgrounds do not currently meet visitor expectations. Recommendations include adding food trucks, running water, Wi-Fi and cabin and tent rentals.
