The New Palestine, Indiana, city council passed a food truck ordinance regulating food trucks in the town. The council had been discussing the measure for several months to iron out the details, according to a report by Greenfield Reporter.

One issue was how long food trucks should be allowed to stay in an area. Initially the ordinance read 48 hours, but there was a concern of whether trucks would leave for a few hours and then come back, starting the 48 hours over again. The council eventually added the words two consecutive days to the ordinance as the limit for food trucks.

The council also changed the rules of how close food trucks can be to brick-and-mortar businesses from 200 feet to 150 feet.

The ordinance passed unanimously in the council.
