New York Food Truck Competition to return in September

The Taste NY Food Truck Competition, sponsored by Aldi, will take place Sunday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the New York Experience area at the west end of the fairgrounds at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, according to a Syracuse.com report. 

A total of 39 food trucks are scheduled to appear — 20 on the first day, 19 on the second.

All trucks will sell $3 samples using food grown or produced in the state. Twelve of the 39 competing trucks are new to the competition this year.

Attendees will vote on the first, second and third place winners each day. Each day's winner will receive a $1,000 Aldi gift card, while second place winner will get a $500 gift card and third place winner a $250 gift card. 

Sunday trucks will include: Skippy's Ice Cream; Nancy's of Woodstock Artisanal Creamery; Glazed and Confused; Smoothies Plus; Rapidz Restaurant; Come Fry With Me; The Chef & the Truck; WingNutz; GV Street Food; Over the Moon Grilled Cheese; Potato Skin Express; Bob Barkers; Tonzi's Catering Company; Pinkies Barbeque and Catering LLC; Via Napoli Express; Roll'n Deep; Abbott's Frozen Custard; Papa Gallo Taco Truck; The Baked Potato Express; and Chef's Catering. 

Monday trucks will include: Smokey Legend BBQ; Byblos Street Grill; Smokin Pete's BBQ; Sarita's; Cue-Dogs; The Meatball Truck; Pascarella's Catering; Limp Lizard; Wolf's Patio Pizza; PB & J's Streetside Café; Glen Edith Coffee; Silo Food Truck; Pig Vycious BBQ; 3.21 Salads; That's What's Up; Macarollin; Stockyard BBQ; LadyBug Lunchbox; and Blueberries and Lace Dessert Truck.
