Maggie Morales runs a food truck in East Elmhurst, New York that she and her late husband Jorge started as a family business.

Jorge Morales passed away last year due to COVID-19 and so the mother of three is on her own running the business called Mike's Express Food Truck.

After learning about her husband's passing, the Street Vendor Project and Beverage Company Diageo teamed up to give her truck financial support for a needed generator, according to a NY1 report. The Street Vendor Project offers a variety of services to street vendors operating in the city. Argentina Magda Love, a local artist, gave the truck a new look as well.

"You know, the people are really, really nice from my community helping me, to give me some help; that's the way we survived those months," Morales told the news outlet.
