Newton, Massachusetts to allow food trucks at splash pad

The Newton, Massachusetts City Council aims to allow food trucks to operate at the splash pad in Harmony Park. The first reading was approved, but the issue will require two more readings prior to being officially changed, according to a report by Newton News.

The current ordinances don't allow food trucks to park on public property or on city streets except for the downtown square area. This change will apply only to the northern end of the park on North Third Avenue West.

All food trucks have to apply for a one year mobile food unit license to operate in the city, according to the report.
