The Haywood Pathways Center, a charitable shelter for the homeless, is launching a food truck to help support its holistic care and rehab mission.
The nonprofit's effort was spurred by a donor offering to pay matching funds for the truck, which is named Elsie as well as Holy Cow given it serves up hamburgers, according to a Smoky Mountain News report.
Pathways Director Mandi Haithcox said the truck is a stable funding strategy and all funds raised through food sales will go to helping those who stay at the shelter.
