The town of Bailey, in North Carolina, is considering enacting an ordinance that would require a permit to operate a food truck.
The regulation would let food truck operators park at businesses, not in neighborhoods, within the hours of 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to an Enterprise report. If serving for more than six hours the truck's employees must be provided a restroom at a primary business, according to a proposed recommendation.
The permit would cost a $100 a month or a total of $1,000 for the year, according to the report.
