The city of Williston, North Dakota, will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. on June 13 at City Hall to hear public input on a proposal to allow food trucks in the city, according to the Williston Herald.
The city will also hold several focus groups on the subject in conjunction with the chamber of commerce. Rachel Laqua, principal city planner, said the city wants to create more dining options.
Food trucks are currently prohibited in the city, unless part of an event sponsored by the city, a fair, a fair association or the convention and visitors bureau. The restriction was based on health and safety concerns, but after conducting research, the city has chosen to move forward to present proposed regulations.
