Ahmed Ali from The Halal Guys has said that he and other food cart and truck operators in New York City support a new plan to give letter grades to vendors, according to a new report by WNBC.
The plan, to be implemented in December, calls for the NYC Health Department to inspect vehicles, assess points for violations and assign a final letter grade of A, B or C — similar to grades given to local restaurants. The grade will be posted on the outside of the food truck or cart.
A tracking device will also be placed on each vehicle to monitor its location, according to the report.
