Officials charge Rhode Island food truck owner with taking deliveries at home

December 3, 2018

The owner of a food truck in Cranston, Rhode Island, pleaded "not guilty" to charges that she had been operating a catering business in a residential zone. According to WPRI.com, Patrizia Prew, who owns Haven Brothers Mobile LLC, entered the plea in Cranston Municipal Court.

The citation was issued following inquiries from Target 12, a media outlet, and two of Pew's neighbors, who said they saw several food deliveries to her garage over a period of several months.

Joseph Wendelken, a public information officer for the state health department, said Prew's home is not a licensed commissary and that she has agreed to use a commissary on Spruce Street for larger deliveries and food that cannot be kept safely on the truck.

Michael Colucci, Prew's attorney, said his client uses a licensed commissary for food storage but is also authorized to receive and hold deliveries in mobile units.
