Food truck operators in Oklahoma will soon have a streamlined process to operate in the state. On Nov. 1 the Food Truck Freedom Act will come into effect, which will require food trucks to just get one state food establishment license rather than getting a permit for every city, according to a report by KFOR.
The goal of this law is to simplify the process for food truck operators. However, some operators said the process has grown more complicated with all the inspections required by the state.
"We have to travel, do an inspection, get a form, take that form to get an additional inspection, fix any required issues, then go get re-inspected," Heather Rogers, operator of Wicked Hangry, said in the report.
She also said she would need a few months to get all the requirements complete.
"The hardest work should be right now. Just making sure that we're within the regulations and guidelines. Once the work is done, passing shouldn't be a problem," Rogers said.
