Manuel Garcia, owner of Dos De Oros food trucks in Omaha was arrested for allegedly smuggling in undocumented immigrants from Mexico for more than 20 years. Investigators claim he was housing undocumented immigrants in two houses in Omaha, according to a report by KETV.

Dos de Oros first opened in Colorado in 2001. One former employee in June 2023 claimed that Garcia smuggled them into the U.S. and threatened them with the authorities if they tried to quit. Employees also allegedly had to pay a $7,500 smuggling fee.

Court records claim that since 2017 Dos de Oros only reported wages to two employees, while the trafficked employees were paid in cash. A Homeland Security special agent claimed that Garcia traveled in and out of Mexico regularly to bring back workers.

Garcia is currently in detention.
