Pennsylvania city mulls revised food truck rule

June 8, 2020

Currently food trucks operating in Greensburg, Pennsyvlania must be at least 500 feet from any brick-and-mortar restaurant but city officials are considering reducing that distance requirement.

A revised proposal would make the requirement 350 feet or even much less, according to a Triblive.com report, as further revisions have the number closer to 200 feet.

Providing a more welcoming ordinance for food trucks is being embraced by residents and business operators, even restaurant owners, according to the report.

The city leaders are considering a trial period at the 200 foot requirement before making a final decision and the revised ordinance may also allow trucks to operator more than four and half hours.

City leaders are expect to vote on the revamp regulations next month.
