Pennsylvania town considers new food truck regulations

March 20, 2018

Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, has proposed new regulations for food trucks, according to The Express. The regulations would not impose permits or fees, but would require food trucks to have a valid state license.

Additionally, the proposed rules stipulate that food trucks must stay at least 500 feet away from schools between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. They must stay 150 feet away from the main entrance to a restaurant, and at least 500 feet away from any vendor event the city has organized or sanctioned if they are not a vendor at the event.

Trucks cannot vend in a park or on city property. No tables, chairs, standing counters or similar pieces will be permitted on public property or within the public right-of-way.

Trucks can park in a residential zone for up to two hours. They can park on private property with the owner's permission, but unattended trucks cannot contain food.

The fine for violating the rules would be a minimum $250 and a maximum of $1,000, the article said.
