The city of Pensacola, Florida could soon be home to food truck courts if lawmakers approve rules to allow the court zones in commercial city areas.
The mayor, D.C. Reeves, is asking the city planning board to discuss an ordinance allowing the operation of food courts, according to a Pensacola News Journal report.
The city's code currently doesn't include food trucks or food truck courts.
"We've had multiple inquiries into potential food truck pavilions, food truck parks, at scale in commercial properties," Reeves told the news outlet. "We're a little bit behind the eight ball in Pensacola. We have surrounding areas and surrounding communities that already have things on the books like this."
At this point there is no proposal in play and if an ordinance is passed it would definitely require the food court to provide customer restrooms.
