Philadelphia food trucks to petition city over forced relocation

October 25, 2019

A group of food truck owners in Philadelphia are planning to ask the city council to lift a food truck ban on a certain block in the northeast part of the city, according to a cbslocal.com report.

In April, the city asked six food truck operators to temporarily move across Spring Garden Street during the construction of stores. The operators said the move hurt their sales since regular customers from a community college have had to cross four lanes of traffic.

Matt Rossi, who owns Brick and Mortar Nick's Roast Beef and is president of the Mobil Food Truck Association, said the food truck owners were not notified about the rule before it became enforced.
