Food trucks will soon be allowed to operate on Market Street, between 33rd and 34th Streets, in University City Philadelphia, thanks to Mayor Jim Kenney's plan to eliminate the unpopular ban, according to a WHYY-TV report.
The ban was enacted with the support of Drexel University over the protest of the affected food trucks.
Kenney said the trucks offer low-cost menu options and a ban is not warranted without discussion.
The ban was one of several to be applied to specific city blocks.
