Pie truck brings New Zealand fare to Denver

One of the newest food trucks in Denver, Colorado isn't offering tacos, burgers, hotdogs, BBQ or Indian fare.

The My Friends and Pie serves up New Zealand meat pies created from friends' and family recipes.

Owner and founder Devon Hill, who launched the truck with her husband, Justin, last August has a deep culinary background and thankfully a lot of friends willing to share recipes, according to a 303 Magazine report

"The authentic meat pies are unique and something Denver doesn't have. I've never had the real deal but I've enjoyed recreating it," Devon Hill told the news outlet.

The pie filling ranges from grilled cheese to Buffalo chicken and features a handmade dough. The pie offerings often include seasonal specials such as a Reuben pie for St. Patrick's Day.

"I love what I do. I've never been this happy at work. You know that saying, if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life," she told the magazine.
