Boise Crust, a Detroit pizza food truck, is opening its first restaurant in Meridian, Idaho. Owner Kirk Gothard said he needed a restaurant as his truck can only make around 120 pizzas a day, according to a report by Boise dev.
"I'm excited about it," Gothard said regarding the restaurant. "It's been a hit. So I'm happy about that. You know, the pizza is a little different, but people like it."
Detroit-style pizza has a square, thick-crust with caramelized cheese on the edges. Gothard uses fresh ingredients for all of his pizzas, other than Ezzo pepperoni which comes from Ohio.
Gothard said the food truck will continue to operate after the restaurant opens.
