Portland, Oregon officials have approved an initiative to allow food trucks, carts and craft booths to set up at local parks. They can pay a fee through an online permitting system to park at 39 parks and natural areas, according to a report by Oregon Live.
In order to use the service, vendors must have a city business tax compliance certification, insurance and a license with Oregon. They also have to clean up their trash and comply with all city park rules.
"It's about creating opportunities on parks property, bringing vibrancy to Portland's public green spaces and supporting local enterprise year-round in a way that benefits everyone," Priya Dhanapal, deputy city administrator for public works, said in the report.
