Reno food truck event grows despite extreme heat

Food Truck Friday at Idlewild Park in Reno, Nevada, has expanded over the past six years, according to KMVT-TV. Steve Schroeder of Reno Street Food, which organizes the event, said it has gone from six trucks every Friday to 70 vendors.

The event now opens earlier so there are no lines for patrons who come earlier in the day, Schroeder said.

Crowds are now in the thousands despite this summer's extreme heat.
