Revel helping brands bypass third-party delivery systems

POS and business management provider, Revel Systems, has launched a restaurant delivery management platform that allows brands to bypass third-party delivery systems and fees as well as manage delivery through their own platforms, according to a news release.

Delivery XT — which is also available to other retailers — features driver-tracking, order-grouping, status updates and delivery time estimates. The company said that the platform is designed to help brand boost margin and CX control, long a bone of contention between brands and third-party providers. The solution is powered by Captain AI software, the company said.

"Delivery has been a lifeline for merchants throughout the pandemic and restaurants and retailers are now seeing the benefits of having their own native offering instead of relying entirely on third-party providers," Revel Systems Chief Strategy Officer Chris Lybeer, said in the release. "Since delivery enhancements were already on our roadmap, we've fast-tracked these developments in response to the market need. Delivery XT improves the customer experience through each step of the purchasing process, ensuring constant communication and clear expectations from the start."

Delivery XT integrates directly with Revel's POS and allows for system-wide, real-time updates and insights. Additional features, such as automated route optimization, are also on track for future app versions.

"Food arrives quickly, so it's still fresh and hot when it's delivered, and with native delivery we're able to bypass third-party delivery fees on those orders. We can also stay in constant communication with our customers, helping them track their orders until the food reaches their door."
