Two schools in Central Falls, Rhode Island now have student-operated food trucks up and running.
The trucks are The Mane Event, at Lincoln Public Schools, and the Taste of Central Falls, at the Central Falls middle school, according to a 10 WJAR report.
"It's been good. I've been having a lot of fun meeting people and being able to work as a team with new people," Marco Latunes, a Central Falls High School student, told the news outlet.
The food truck programs allow students to learn business skills while also learning how to prep food and cook.
The programs are part of the state's department of education Menu for Success Initiative that kicked off in 2022. There are 11 other school systems in the state which will operate food trucks as part of their culinary programs, according to the report.
