Salinas, California, is attempting various strategies to curtail prostitution in the area. One effort surrounds food trucks, according to a report by KSBW.

The area in the downtown area between East Alisal and East Market Street have seen a large increase in these activities, and the Salinas Police Department have arrested four already for pimping, pandering and conspiracy. A city team also believe that food trucks correlate with these activities, making it easier for prostitution to take place.

To address this concern, the team is proposing moving three food trucks on Kern Street by establishing a No Parking Zone for six months and then see if food trucks are actually correlated to this issue.

The city is also considering installing four cameras and using solar street lighting.
