One of the newest food trucks in San Antonio, Texas is banking on foodies craving Mexican street food.

The Milpa food truck is owned by chef Jesse Kuykendall and it's her first step toward opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant, according to a San Antonio Current report.

Kuykendall is the chef at the Ocho restaurant at Hotel Havana.

"I started this venture prior to [joining the team at] Ocho, and it was hard to let it go so I could dedicate my focus to my growth with Havana," Kuykendall told the news outlet. "Milpa is a perfect place for me to share who I am, past [the work] I'm fortunate to do with Ocho."

Milpa's menu includes tacos, quesadillas, pozole and arroz con leche — what the chef terms as overlooked street food in Mexico.
