San Francisco food truck owners seek to convert parking lot to service area

March 13, 2018

A group of San Francisco food truck owners is seeking permission to temporarily convert a vacant parking lot next to an appliance store into a commercial lot with tables and chairs, according to hoodline.com.

The proposed change has raised concern among neighbors about noise, congestion, trash, restroom availability and general conduct and behavior.

The project sponsors want to make the space available for two food trucks from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The proposal meets planning code needs and is likely to be approved with some conditions, the report said.
